Yesterday, I completed the San Francisco Marathon. 26.2 obscenely hilly miles! It was so much fun. I would do it again today if I could.
But I can't, of course. Today, I can barely walk. my legs are stiff and sore, as is my upper back, for some reason. I'm thinking about getting a massage, but I don't know whether I should get one right away or wait awhile.
I ran alongside this fun group of AIDS Marathoners, who had trained together and were raising money for AIDS research. Being with them helped so much, for motivation and entertainment.
The fact that my training wasn't complete didn't catch up with me until around mile 20. That's when I started to stiffen up. Those last 6 miles were grueling. By the end, whatever movement I was engaged in to propel myself along could hardly have been called "running". More like 'trotting'. I can't wait to see the photos.
